Our mission is two fold.  First and foremost, we make quilts for kids in medical crisis from donated and discontinued fabric.  Second, by using donated and discontinued fabrics, we keep the fabric out of the landfills.

We are a national, 501(c)(3) organization, headquartered in Yardley, PA (www.quiltsforkids.org) .  When our founder, Linda Arye was working in the design industry, she noticed the enormous amounts of discontinued fabric that the fabric mills were simply disgarding into the landfills.  Ms. Arye asked if she could have the fabric and fabric samples targeted as waste, and the mills agreed.

It was then that she decided this fabric must have a better purpose.  Ms. Arye created Quilts for Kids, Inc., in 2001, with the goal of using this fabric to make quilts for kids undergoing long term medical care.  We have over 50 chapter nationwide, and together, we have donated over 40,000 quilts and kept over a million pounds of fabric from our landfills.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE NEW QFK FABRIC LINE AVAILABLE AT THE PINCUSHION ONLINE STORE:  http://www.sweettreat.com. The fat quarters are in bundles (Sweettreats) - "Crazy for Kids", "My Circle of Friends" and "Wild About Animals".  If you make a quilt from these fabrics, please send us a photos of your completed quilt!

Amy Glass, Boise State gymnast suffered a broken neck after a fall from the uneven bars at a San Jose State gymnastic meet in January '09.  After spending 3 1/2 months in a "halo" (shown above) to stabilize her neck, Amy had a full recovery.  She went back to school in May '09 to attend the summer session to make up for the school she had missed during her recovery.  Best wishes to Amy!
